A Glimpse into 2012
2012 Tentative Auto City Speedway Schedule Released!
It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone so quickly. Although 2011 was probably one of the wettest years we have ever had with a record number of rained out events, we managed to squeeze in some great nights of side by side racing action, close finishes and fun filled nights for the kids. Hopefully we have created some great memories for you and the fans that will last a lifetime.
Looking forward, 2012 will bring much of the same type of racing action as 2011, but with some changes and added excitement at Auto City Speedway.
The Schedule is pretty much completed! Racing will begin on April 28th with the 2012 Season opener “The Action is Back”! The opener is highlighted by the LaFontaine Performance Center Super Stocks (formally ACSS), Midwest Racing Scene Sportsman, Tiger Auto Salvage Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Fig- 8’S. (still confirming sponsors). Traveling series in 2012 will include the “Must See Racing Extreme Sprint Series”, Michigan Legend Series, and Dwarf Cars, and added to the lineup for the first time in a long time the “Main Event”, Midwest Super Modified Series and the JEG/CRA All Star Series.
We have decided to scale back the Super Outlaw Late Models to only the “Main Event” on Memorial weekend. A new tradition will now be added (name to be announced) and ran by our ACSS with the JEG/CRA All Star Series …Tentative Wednesday August 15th, this date has been added due to the only day available, and a special announcement about this event will be confirmed in January!
The Pro Late Models cars will be added with the a Triple Crown series... with added purse growing on each event...Also the Modifieds will have three special invites along with the Midwest Super Modified Series (Mod Madness) on June 23rd called the “Mod Twin 30”, one on July 7th, the “Sam Faur Mod 70” Memorial race and then again on August 9th with the “3rd annual “Mod 50 Tops Off”” a Tribute race to Greg Yost.
Annual GM/United Way car show will take place on Sunday July 15th.
Also… you “Back to Brick” fans, we will be a hosting another event for the tune-up week, starting August 6th, stay tuned!!
The Kids Bash will take place on August 18th with the back to school pack give-a-way!
In addition to the action-packed race schedule Auto City Speedway will have the fan favorite with five Maximum Destruction shows scheduled for Sunday May 27th, Saturday June 30th, Saturday August 4th, Saturday Sept 1st, and the finale on October 6th with the Maximum Destruction-“Battle at the City”.
Championship night will take place on September 15th
Some other changes taking place is pricing…Auto City will go to Family pricing…Pit Family prices is; Adults $25.00, ($30.00 for special race events). Kids 12-6 $15.00 and kids 5 and under FREE!! We truly hope this will help family stay together while racing. Also prices at the front gate will change... Adults will pay $12-15 (special events $18-22) (depending on the event). ..Seniors- (62 & older) $10.00 and kids 12-6-$5.00 and 5 and under FREE!! Maximum Destruction Shows; kids 12 and under will always be FREE
As we are making plans for the Awards Banquet in October and next year’s racing season we certainly hope that you are making plans to be a part of the racing at Auto City. We enjoy having you and wish you luck again in this coming racing season. Many specials nights will be added to the schedule for the fans, also look for some changes to take place within this schedule.
