Auto City Speedway Changes Ahead in 2012
Auto City Speedway promoter Joe DeWitte has announced plans to introduce the Sportsman class as a weekly division in 2012 along with the ACSS, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Figure 8 & Virtual Hornets. Also the Pro Late Models will be brought back for a Triple Crown series (more TBA). But it’s with deep regret the Modified Division will not be included in the weekly line up.
Promoter Joe DeWitte said “making the decision to take the Modified division away from the weekly line up was not easy. The class has been around forever and a lot of great racers have raced at Auto City.” DeWitte continued, “But with the economics of racing facing all of the racing community, we have made the decision to add the Sportsman class to the weekly division line up. It’s a tuff decision to eliminate anyone’s class from racing, but I am hoping this announcement comes early enough so drivers can look to the other divisions at the Speedway and participate in one of them”. Modified’s will still have three big invites on the schedule at Auto City… “Modified Madness” with the running of a Super Modified show (June 23rd), the “Sam Faur 70” Race (July 7th) and the “Greg Yost Topless” Invite (August 11th)…With that said, we truly have a great season lined up. Please keep checking back to the web site…we are still working on the schedule and it should be posting in a few weeks.
